Ansgar Belke

Ansgar Belke (†) studied Economics at the Universities of Münster, Paris and Kiel. He obtained his PhD in Economics and his Habilitation in Economics and Econometrics at the Ruhr University Bochum, Germany.

He was ad Personam Jean Monnet Professor of Economics, in particular Macroeconomics, and Director of the Institute of Business and Economic Studies at the University of Duisburg-Essen (IBES). He previously held professorships at the Universities of Vienna and Hohenheim. Ansgar Belke was Research Associate at the CEPS, Brussels and Senior Research Fellow of IZA Bonn and King's College London. He was a Visiting Researcher at the IMF in Washington/DC, CentER Tilburg, IfW Kiel and the OeNB Vienna. He was also Research Director for International Macroeconomics at DIW, Berlin and Visiting Professor at the Hertie School of Governance, Berlin.
