Wolfram Pyta

Wolfram Pyta studied history, political science, and philosophy at the universities of Bonn and Cologne. He holds the chair of modern history at the University of Stuttgart since 1999. In 2008 he was awarded Baden-Württemberg's distinguished »Landesforschungspreis für Grundlagenforschung«. His most important publications (»Hindenburg«, 2007; »Hitler«, 2015) are methodically indebted to a cultural history of the Political. Professor Pyta is particularly interested in the political effectiveness of literature and, therefore, positions his work at the confluence of historiography and literary criticism.
