Sergio Seminara was professor at the Universities of Catanzaro and Catania and has been – since 1995 – full professor of Criminal Law and Commercial Criminal Law at the University of Pavia. He is the author of monographs, articles, essays, encyclopaedic briefs and case notes on matters related to the general theory of crime, general and special part of the criminal code, history of criminal law, comparative criminal law, commercial criminal law, medical law as well as cyber-crimes. He is also the author of a textbook on commercial criminal law. Since 2014 he has been a member of the scientific advisory board of Max Planck Institute for Foreign and International Criminal Law at Freiburg i.Br. Since November 2017 he has been chairman of the board of the Italian Association of the Professors in Criminal Law.
