Utz Schliesky

Utz Schliesky studied law at Kiel University. There he subsequently worked as a research assistant to former Federal Minister Prof. Dr. Edzard Schmidt-Jortzig, under whose supervision he received his doctoral degree in 1995 and his habilitation in 2002. From 2003 to 2005, he was First Assistant Director and Deputy Chief Executive of the German County Association (Deutscher Landkreistag) in Berlin and Brussels. From 2005 to 2009, he was Head of the Department for Administrative Modernization in the State Ministry of Finance of Schleswig-Holstein. Since 2009, he has been Director of the State Parliament of Schleswig-Holstein and, since 2007, Member of the Board of the Lorenz von Stein Institute for Administrative Sciences at Kiel University.
