Martin Warnke

Martin Warnke studied mathematics and physics at the Freie Universität Berlin and the University of Hamburg, earned his doctorate in theoretical low-temperature physics, was head of the Computing and Media Centre at Leuphana University Lüneburg, habilitated in 2008 and has been teaching there since 2010 at the Faculty of Cultural Studies in the subject of digital media. He heads the degree programme »Digital Media/Cultural Informatics« and is director of the Institute for Advanced Study »Media Cultures of Computer Simulation«. He conducts research on digital knowledge cultures, digital image media, computer simulations as a theoretical form of quantum mechanics and scoring procedures in the People's Republic of China and in the West. He is chairman of the Springhornhof Art Association.
