Klaus Mathis studied economics and law at the University of Zurich, where he also wrote his dissertation on »Efficiency instead of Justice? In Search of the Philosophical Foundations of the Economic Analysis of Law«. He then worked in Bern as a research assistant at the State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO). In 2004, he first became Senior Lecturer in Public Law and then Assistant Professor in Public Law at the University of Lucerne.
