Fritz Hieber studied economics, political science and sociology at the universities of Würzburg and Tübingen. After completing his studies, he worked as a teacher in the public sector. This was followed by a period as a member of the management of a private commercial enterprise with responsibility for human resources, labour law and training.
Fritz Hieber was subsequently appointed Professor of Economics and Public Management at the University of Ludwigsburg. At the same time, he was entrusted with the development of curricula for economics and public management at the universities of Budapest, Gabrovo (Bulgaria) and Piteşti (Romania) within the framework of the Erasmus Programme. For this he was awarded an honorary doctorate by the Romanian Ministry of Science. His books have been translated into Romanian and Bulgarian.
In addition, Fritz Hieber took on a teaching assignment for the subject »Public Management« in the degree programme »Cultural Management« at the Ludwigsburg University of Education. He also held a lectureship in economics at the Baden-Württemberg Cooperative State University (DHBW) Stuttgart.
