Günther Neumann

Guenther Neumann’s expertise spans from science to philosophy. He first studied physics at the University Erlangen-Nuremberg, Germany (Ph.D. in mathematics, 1986), and later philosophy at the University Freiburg, Germany (Ph.D. thesis on Husserl and Heidegger, 1998). During his mathematical studies he gained a scholarship to Massachusetts Institute of Technology, USA. He worked as a physicist in a research institute of the Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft, Germany, and has taught at several universities. He is a member of the Editorial Advisory Board of “»Heidegger Studies« and »Heidegger-Jahrbuch«, and an editor of the philosophical works of Heidegger (vol. 62, 72, 80, 84 et al. of the »Gesamtausgabe«). He has written numerous publications in the fields of physics and mathematics, phenomenology, natural philosophy, ancient and modern philosophy, metaphysics and ethics.
