Jürgen Elvert

Jürgen Elvert teaches modern and contemporary history and didactics of history at the Historical Institute of the University of Cologne. His teaching and research focuses on European history and the cultural history of the sea. Several of his books are considered as standard works. In 2013, the European Commission awarded him the honorary title of Jean Monnet Professor of European History for his project »European History in Global Context«.
