Claus Pias

Claus Pias has been Professor of Media Theory and Media History at Leuphana University Lüneburg since 2010. He studied electrical engineering in Aachen, art history, German studies and philosophy in Bonn and Bochum. From 2006 to 2010 he was Professor of Epistemology and Philosophy of Digital Media at the University of Vienna. Claus Pias is director of the Institute for Advanced Study »Media Cultures of Computer Simulation«, the Centre for Digital Cultures and the Digital Cultures Research Lab (DCRL) at Leuphana University Lüneburg. His research interests are media theology, history of science of media thinking as well as history and epistemology of simulation and cybernetics.
