Hans-Peter Burghof

Since 2003, Hans-Peter Burghof holds the Chair of Banking and Financial Services at the University of Hohenheim in Stuttgart. He did his PhD in 1998, achieved habilitation in 2002, both at the University of Munich. In 1994 he graduated in economics at the University of Bonn. From 1984 to 1988 he worked at a public savings bank. He has been interim professor at the University of Mainz and visiting researcher at the Universities of Ottawa and Venice. His teaching comprises courses at the undergraduate, graduate and executive level in Hohenheim, Munich and Mainz, but also for HEC, IAE/Sorbonne, WHU, the University of Cologne and SWUFE in China. His research focus is on banking risk and regulation, instability of banks and the structure and efficiency banking systems, bank risk management, and credit contracts.
