Bernadette Makoski

Bernadette Makoski studied law in Düsseldorf, Germany, and Cergy-Pontoise, France. She has been supported by the Studienstiftung (German Academic Scholarship Foundation). In Düsseldorf, she worked inter alia at the Chair for Public and Administrative Law and at the Chair for Civil Law and Industrial Property Law. She obtained her LL.M. and her doctorate at the Heinrich-Heine-University of Düsseldorf, where she gives lectures. During her legal clerkship she worked for the European Commission. She is judge at the Regional court of Düsseldorf, worked already for the Federal Ministry of Justice and Consumer Protection in Berlin and currently works at the Court of Justice of the European Union in Luxembourg.
