Barbara Stollberg-Rilinger
Barbara Stollberg-Rilinger is Professor for Early Modern History at the University of Muenster and since 2018 Rector of the Institute for Advanced Study (Wissenschaftskolleg) in Berlin. She was speaker of the Research Groups »Symbolic Communication and Social Value Systems« and »Cultures of Decision Making« as well as the Excellence Cluster »Religion and Politics in Modern and Pre-Modern Cultures«. In 2005 she was awarded the Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz Prize. She is a member of the Berlin-Brandenburg Academy of Science and Fellow of the British Academy. Her main research field is the history of the political culture in Early Modern Europe with a particular focus on rituals, symbols, and procedures.
