Annina Baumgartner studied law at the universities of Passau, Córdoba/Argentina and Munich. Legal Preparatory Service at the Higher Regional Court, Munich, with stage at the Foreign Office, Berlin. Research assistant at the Chair for German, European and International Criminal Law, Criminal Procedure and Corporate Crime held by Prof. Dr. Robert Esser, Passau. From 2008 to 2012 teacher of law at the Federal University of Applied Sciences for Public Administration. From 2012 bis 2017 case officer at a higher federal authority. As of 2018, officer for European Union Law and Public International Law at the Federal Ministry of the Interior, Building and Community.
