Description
»Nicolai Hartmann – Heinz Heimsoeth: Correspondence 1921–1950«: The correspondence between Nicolai Hartmann (1882–1950), the creator of a »New Ontology«, and the historian of philosophy Heinz Heimsoeth (1886–1975), who became international known with his presentation of the »Six great themes of occidential metaphysics and the end of the Middle Ages«, published here for the first time is intended to contribute to the images of German philosophy in the »Age of extremes«. The letters presented here are in terms of scope and intensity almost unique among the scholary correspondence of its epoch and shall revise the image which has so far been reduced to a few celebrities like Martin Heidegger and Ernst Cassirer, in a way that increases complexity.
