»Silesian Court History and the French Impact on the Cross Roads of Prussian and Austrian Hegemonies«: Following the Napoleonic wars, Prussia and Austria found themselves operating under two different legal systems. In Silesia, which was particularly affected by the rivalry between the two powers, a new procedure took the place of the old inquisitorial system. This paper looks at the extent to which the French-Napoleonic Codes shaped the Silesian reform debate in the field of legislature, science and legal practice.
