»Kondylis Today. Anthropology in Panajotis Kondylis´ Philosophical Writings«: In his extensive work, Panajotis Kondylis, 1943-1998, reconstructed important epochs in the history of European thought. His investigations, which are oriented towards structural history, not only encourage the dialogue between social science and cultural studies, they also point to an anthropologically mandatory reason, basic to all search of knowledge: As deficient beings, man needs man in order to create the conditions for both the physical and the spiritual preservation of his existence. Information about this is provided by those epoch-typical images of the world and the human beings, the genesis of which Kondylis traced in his critical analyses of European philosophical thought. The articles in this volume not only deal with current aspects of his work, they also document the author's search for the anthropological preconditions of the intellectual history brought to mind in his writings.
