Description
»Letters from a Child Exile. Edgar Feuchtwanger in England, 1939«: In 1939, 14-year-old Edgar Feuchtwanger fled from National Socialist Germany to England. His parents initially stayed behind in Munich. The letters he wrote to them, initially in German and then in English, are published here for the first time. In a conversation with his daughter Antonia Cox, the now 100-year-old describes how he made the most of his early days in England. In her foreword, editor Anja Tuckermann describes the life-threatening situation in Germany and uses additional documents to show how the family got along in England.
