With the deepening of the legal exchange between China and Germany since the turn of the millennium, the need for a special dictionary has grown stronger. Unfortunately, there are hardly any German-Chinese dictionaries with a focus on legal terminology.
The German-Chinese legal dictionary aims to fill this gap: its first edition includes over 21,000 lemmata, that consist of words and group of words, and cover different areas of law, such as legal theory, history of law, constitutional law, civil law, criminal law and procedural law, among others.
Since the German legal system is strongly influenced by Roman law and since the legal language is closely intertwined with common language, in order to facilitate the comprehension of German legal documents and conversations, the dictionary not only includes Latin terminology, but numerous German adverbs and verbs, that are commonly used by German lawyers in legal dealings. Additionally, you can find an extensive index of abbreviations (more than 1,000 commonly used abbreviations) demystifying the dealings with German legal documents.
The book also contains an extensive list of abbreviations to further simplify the handling of German legal documents.
