Emmanuel Berger

Emmanuel Berger is IAP researcher at the Université de Namur and fellow at the Institut d'études avancées de Paris (IEA). His main research fields are the history of criminal justice in eighteenth- and nineteenth-century Europe. He published in 2006 »La justice pénale sous la Révolution. Les enjeux d'un modèle judiciaire libéral« and in 2010 »L'acculturation des modèles policiers et judiciaires français en Belgique et aux Pays-Bas (1795–1815)«. In 2013, he co-edited a special issue of the European Review of History: »Popular Protest and Violence in 19 Century Europe. Perspectives from Current Historiography, European Review of History (vol. 20, n°6)«.
